Embracing Rainy Days

Weekly Topic: 5 ideas for spending the rainy season

Jane M.

When the rain keeps you indoors, it’s the perfect time to slow down and recharge. Here are five ways to embrace those drizzly days at home.

1. Journaling. Writing on a rainy day can be a therapeutic and introspective experience. The sound of the rain is calming and makes it easier to think deeply. Plus, the gloomy weather might inspire some creative writing or give you something to ponder.

2. Watch that movie on your "watch later" list.  Remember that movie you wanted to watch weeks ago and forgot about? Check your list, treat yourself to some popcorn, hot chocolate, or your favorite snack—whatever makes your movie night extra cozy!

3. Declutter. Rainy days can sometimes inspire a sense of reflection and change. Channel your inner Marie Kondo and embrace minimalism by tidying up and discarding items that don't "spark joy."

4. Try that recipe you saw on TikTok! If you're like me and love cooking, you probably have dozens of recipes saved on social media. Now is the perfect time to try them out!

5. Enjoy a relaxing soak.  So you're done cooking, decluttering, etc. What better way to cap off a rainy evening than with a nice bath? Add a few drops of aromatic oil, unwind, relieve your muscles, and perhaps even listen to some rainy day tunes. (Here's a playlist I made if you're interested. https://bit.ly/4etFxPb ♫⋆)
