Why cats are the purrrfect (perfect!) companion!

Michelle GL

In Japan, cats are everywhere- in cafes, in bookes, in manga and even in lucky charms! I love how much cats are valued in Japan. I can often be found in the evenings curled up with my cat on the sofa reading a good book. I also love cat sitting for friends - there's nothing quite like the company of a cat. But did you know that living with cats can also bring many real benefits for our health and happiness?

- Stress relief : Research shows that petting a cat can lower stress levels. The sound of a cat's purr is calming. It's like having therapy at home!

- Companionship without pressure: Cats are independent. They don't demand constant attention, but they give affection in their own way. For people who are busy or tired, casts are the perfect quiet companions.

- Daily joy: Cats are funny and surprising. Their small behaviours such as chasing a toy, sitting in a box or rolling over for a belly rub can bring laughter and warmth to everyday life.

- Health Benefits: Studies suggest cat owners may have lower blood pressure and a reduced risk of heart disease. Cats encourage us to relax and slow down.

- Inspiration: From The Cat Who Saved Books to countless manga and anime, cats inspire art, stories and imagination. They're more than pets, they're muses.

In a busy, stressful world, cats remind us of simple happiness. They teach us to enjoy the present moment, whether it's a warm nap in the sun or a playful moment together.

Do you have a cat, or a favourite memory of one? Maybe next time you want to practice your English, you can share your cat stories with me!
