Word of the Day - Yearn

Brian R.

Have you ever wanted something so badly that you feel sad or depressed without it? Have you ever missed someone so much that thinking of them hurts?Have you ever dreamed to be somewhere else doing something else?

Well, this is yearning. Yearn is a VERB form and YEARNING is a noun

Definition: Yearn means to grieve or to have a strong desire or need for something. The noun yearning, similarly, refers to a longing or unfulfilled desire or need.

Examples:

I yearn to be in the wide open spaces of Alaska again.

The yearning that I feel sometimes keeps me from doing anything.

This word is a beautiful word and you can use it in the place of miss or missing.

Have fun and practice this word in your next conversation!

Thanks everyone!
