Word of the Day - Kindle

Brian R.

Hello everyone! Happy Monday? Are Mondays ever happy? Well, I wish you one anyway :). The word of the day today is Kindle. Most of you probably know what a Kindle is, you know, a reading device that you can buy and read books on. Does anyone know what the word means? Let's see...

Definition:

Kindle is a verb which can be used transitively, where it means to set fire, or intransitively, where it means to take fire or to begin to burn in flames. The transitive usage can also mean to arouse.

Examples:

"The flame began to kindle after several attempts to ignite it."

"My love for her has kindled."

"Passion is like a flame that's kindled."

Practice this word in your next conversation! Have a great day and happy learning everybody :).
