Bulgar Pilaf Recipe

Momo Sensei

Hey Everyone!

Today, i am going to teach how to cook Bulgar Pilaf. This is a Turkish recipe and made of grains of wheat. It's so healthy and you can serve it with meat or chicken courses.Actually, i dont know if you can find it in your country.Probably, you can find it any world wide food markets.I want to introduce the one which we will use for cooking pilaf. This is called Coarse Bulgar. And how it looks like.As you see that the pieces are in whole and pure. There is another type of Bulgar, which is broken little tiny pieces. You should get this one.

Then, the rest of the ingredients are really easy to find!Let's get started!

Bulgar Pilaf (Serving: 2 people)

Ingredients:

1 cup of coarse bulgar

1 1/2 cups of water

1 chicken/beef boulion

2 diced bell peppers / normal size

1 diced onion / normal size

1 soup spoonful of tomato paste

3 pinches of salt for taste

HOW TO COOK?

1. Add diced onion and bell peppers into your cooking pan and saute them.Be careful!Don't burn them or don't make them yellowish.Just make them tender and let them white.

2.Then add tomato paste and continue stirring. Then add bulgar and mix it well. You don't need to soak bulgar before you cook. Then add boulion into the half cup of hot water to mix and then add the rest of the water in cold and you can add it into the cooking pot.

3.Last touch!Just season with salt, stir it and close the cover for cooking it.First, bring the heat to the medium until it starts boiling. Then quickly bring it to the low heat for steaming.Sometimes, you should mix it to check the bottom of your pot.

4.It will be well cooked in 20-25 min! Then, turn off the heat and put a cooking towel between the pot and its cover. This will help your pilaf to cool down quickly and prevent sticking eachother.

Very simple, isn't it? If you would like to know how to cook delicious Turkish foods, just join my class and be an expert of cooking!
