Black sesame seed and black hair

Dec 27, 2017

Many of us are looking for a magic pill to darken grey hair, and to reverse the greying process.

I heard that black sesame seed is the magic food.  But it sounds too good to be true.  There are many remedies offered by Traditional Chinese Medicine, but I wonder if probably half are old wives tales.

Regarding black sesame seeds, there seems to have been some research done.  According to a website,

“In traditional Chinese Medicine black sesame are considered as one of the best anti-aging foods. Along with nourishing the scalp and stimulating hair growth, black sesame seeds can promote melanocyte activity to produce melanin – the pigment responsible for hair and skin colour.  Research suggests that antioxidants present in the black sesame seeds can counteract or neutralize the effect of free radicals that damage cells and cause aging (including grey hair, hair loss and wrinkles).”

Ah well, enough for the theory.  All I want is result.  I have been putting ground black sesame seeds (about 1 teaspoon each time) in my oatmeal for a few weeks now, and am hoping for the best.

Well, if it works, I will see results in a few months.  I will keep you posted whether it works or not.

If you have tried this remedy, please share your thoughts with me.
