Learn some ways to sound like a Brit!

For upper intermediate students and above.

When people think of a British accent, they often  think of something called RP (Received Pronunciation). This is how the Queen speaks and some people at the BBC. However, the rest of Britain sound quite different to this!

In this class you will look at ways you can sound more like a native Brit! There are hundreds of different accents in th UK, in this class we will focus on a very common southern English accent. You can hear this in Harry Potter ( Harry, Sirius, Snape, Ron etc), Sherlock etc

Learn the ways that British people speak.

We will look at the following:


the glottal t and true t
the
/a:/ in British English
the schwa sound

/ᵊ/
