Ceramics | Learn to Make Lovely Clay Flowers

Would you like to make small clay flowers to decorate pottery and other handmade pieces?

Learn to shape petals with your fingertips and assemble them into a flower. I’ll demonstrate each step with a close-up view of my hands and guide you at your own pace.

In this 30-minute lesson, we’ll aim to complete the shaping of one simple flower. You’ll learn how to control petal thickness, create natural curves, arrange the petals, and join them securely—skills you can use in your own ceramic work.

・Anyone who would like to add floral decorations to pottery or small objects
・Pottery students looking to explore a new form of expression

You’ll need your own ceramic clay and tools, as well as access to a kiln or a pottery studio that can fire your work.

【What to prepare】
・Soft, workable ceramic clay
・A work board
・A rolling pin (optional)
・Modeling tools, such as a wooden tool or clay knife
・A little water and a hand towel

・Attaching flowers to pottery, glazing, and adding jewelry findings are not included, but I’m happy to offer advice.
