Vocabulary 

Menu (noun)

Meaning: A list of food and drinks available at the restaurant.

Example: Could we see the menu, please?

Waiter/Waitress (noun)

Meaning: A person who serves food and drinks in a restaurant.

Example: The waiter recommended the chef’s special pasta.

Dessert (noun)

Meaning: A sweet dish eaten at the end of a meal.

Example: Let’s share a chocolate lava cake for dessert!

Ingredients (noun, plural)

Meaning: The items used to prepare a dish (e.g., vegetables, spices).

Example: This salad uses fresh ingredients from local farms.

Spicy (adjective)
 
Meaning: Having a hot or pungent flavor from chili peppers or spices.
 
Example: The spicy curry was too hot for me!

Ken: Yes, please.

Waitress: We have grilled fish with vegetables. The ingredients are very fresh.

Ken: Is it spicy?

Waitress: Not spicy at all. Very mild flavor.

Ken: Perfect. I’ll order that. (pause) Waitress, does it come with rice?

Waitress: Yes, white rice or bread. Which do you prefer?

Ken: White rice, please.

Waitress: Understood. Your tea will arrive first.

Ken: (after eating) That was delicious! May I see the dessert menu?

Waitress: Here you are. The matcha pudding is popular.

Ken: I’ll try it. And may I have the bill too, please?

Waitress: Of course. One matcha pudding and the bill.
