Learning about cultural trends through Korean songs

Korean Songs & Culture
1. Learning Objectives
1) Students will listen to Korean songs and understand the lyrics.
2) Students will learn about Korean culture from song’s lyrics.
2. Target Students
Korean level: Intermediate to advanced-level students
3. Study time
1 hour
4. Learning method
1) The teacher will play a Korean song for the student (from a Youtube channel)
2) Students will then listen to the song and express their thoughts and feelings about the lyrics
3) The teacher will provide the lyrics from the song
4) The teacher and student will discuss the lyrics with each other
The teacher will explain the culture, historical background, and current trends in Korea that are depicted in the lyrics.
5) If necessary, the teacher and student will listen to the song again and share their impressions.
5. Special notes
The teacher will prepare Korean songs that are useful to you as a student, but other songs can be used upon request by the student.
