This session we looked in depth about causative verbs, when they are used and how to make them. We also discussed in detail the particles that accompany particularly causative verbs and the relationship between transitive and intransitive verbs in this context. This is a difficult subject and ...

This session we looked in depth about causative verbs, when they are used and how to make them. We also discussed in detail the particles that accompany particularly causative verbs and the relationship between transitive and intransitive verbs in this context. This is a difficult subject and one that using the textbook alone is difficult to navigate. Tomo Sensei had sent the verb structure beforehand, so I was familiar with it, and during the lesson we were able to look into how to use it in detail. The 50 minute lesson was not enough to go over all types of usage for this conjugation so we will follow it up in the next lesson next week. Tomo Sensei had excellent slides and material for the lesson, and was able to show me her screen during the lesson on Skype. This was professional setup and we covered a lot of material. I hope to study hard this weekend to continue with this topic early next week.

Great lesson today with Tomo Sensei. We covered a couple of grammar points and discussed the use of a new vocabulary word and how to use it properly in context. Excellent feedback after the lesson.

Using Try N3 as a basis, we had a 50 minute lesson on how to incorporate 6 grammar points into daily conversation. Although the book explains the function of the grammar, Tomo Sensei allowed me to understand the use within a conversational environment. What grammar points sounds too strong to the Japanese, what grammar isn't good when talking about adults was explained in detail. These nuances aren't understood when self studying and Tomo Sensei's description and practice brought these grammar points alive today. I remember Tomo Sensei's lessons very well afterwards and she is a very talented teacher.
