This lesson will help you learn and use common everyday English idioms so you can understand conversations more easily and sound more natural when speaking.

What you will learn:

  • The meaning of common idioms

  • How and when to use them correctly

  • The difference between literal and idiomatic meaning

  • How to use idioms in real-life situations

Examples of idioms you may learn:

  • “Break the ice” – start a conversation

  • “Hit the nail on the head” – say something exactly right

  • “Under the weather” – feeling sick

  • “Piece of cake” – something very easy

  • “Spill the beans” – reveal a secret
