Each season, we’ll enjoy a different story chosen to match the atmosphere of the time of year.
This summer season, we'll explore the first book in a feel-good seasonal series set in a quiet English village.

This summer season, we'll explore the first book in a feel-good seasonal series set in a quiet English village.
The story follows a woman going through a time of change as she reconnects with her past, rediscovers herself, and finds comfort in the simple joys of summer.
You’ll have the option to either read a short excerpt or listen to a short audio clip, followed by a relaxed discussion in English.
In this lesson, you will..
- Choose between reading or listening to a short part of the story
- Practice pronunciation and natural English conversation
- Improve your speaking and comprehension skills through a relaxed discussion
- Learn useful vocabulary related to summer, everyday life, and emotions
This lesson is ideal for intermediate and advanced learners who enjoy fiction, small-town settings, or summer-themed reads in English.
Please note that the exact story changes each season, but you can always expect:
- A cozy atmosphere
- Thoughtful themes
- An easy-to-follow narrative that’s perfect for language learners

If you previously joined 'The Ghost of Marlow House' or 'A Kidnapped Santa Claus' book club lessons, please note that those have now been combined into this new all-season format. The story will still change each season, just under one lesson.
