Description
Interested in learning idioms? You've come to the right place!
The English language contains dozens of idioms for speakers to use at will, but sometimes it's hard to know whihch ones are the most frequently used. This lesson pack contains a few of the most popular idioms in English that are both interesting and easy for ESL students to understand. And, of course, a small practice activity awaits you at the end. :)
When you're introduced to an idiom for the first time, you might be able to figure out its meaning, so I like to ask students what they assume the meaning is. There are no wrong answers when this happens; it's for fun! As we learn the idioms' true meanings, see if you can come up with some scenarios that match. This makes for good practice. You'll also learn a few origin stories along the way, seeing where exactly some of these idioms came from in the first place!
This lesson is good for intermediate to more advanced learners. Let's enjoy some fun idioms together!
