Description

This lesson which is great for all Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels of English focus

on the following:
1. Using adjectives to appropriately describe people
2. Describing personality traits without coming off as offensive.

Teaching adjectives for describing physical appearance.
A1 Vocubulary
• Hair: short, long, curly, straight, blonde, black, brown.
• Height/Build: tall, short
• Features: young, old, pretty, handsome.

A2 Vocabulary:
• Add: medium height, slim, muscular, glasses, beard, mustache.
• Personality adjectives: friendly, shy, funny, kind.
Practice pronunciation by having students repeat the words after me.

Teaching sentence structures to describe people.
1. Explain:
• “He is tall.”
• “She has blonde hair.” “She is medium height and has curly hair.”
• Use personality traits: “He is funny and friendly.”

Create sentences based on pictures (e.g., “He is short. She has long hair.”).
• A2: Create more complex sentences (e.g., “She is slim, has glasses, and is very kind.”).

Add personality traits:
• Teacher Edwin: “What is your friend like?”
