Vocal Range Techniques
Description
Title of Lesson - Singing Songs
Duration - 45 minutes
Objectives - Help the students reach higher vocal ranges through music, learn new songs
Resources - PDF document, guitar, YouTube
Intro:
Start by introducing and practicing different notes with the students (A- G). Show them the notes on the flashcards and they have to pitch the note that they see.
Practice:
Start singing a couple of songs for the students (i.e. Frére Jacques, Bluebird, Tomorrow, The Rivers of Babylon) When the students are ready get them to practice the song with the notes. When they familiarised themselves with the notes you can play them the song on audio. Put the students into pairs where they can practice together.
Production:
Get the students to start singing the song when they are ready. They will start singing the few songs. The songs will be accompanied by lyrics and the vocal notes on the page (A-G). When they are finished ask them what songs they like.
Conclusion:
The class will end by the teacher saying goodbye to the students.
