Brazilian Portuguese is one of the most enjoyable languages in the world to learn, and one of the worst-served by textbooks. Textbooks teach you a formal Portuguese that nobody in Brazil actually speaks.

What we do

  • The everyday phrases that make people warm to you instantly
  • The culture underneath the language: why Brazilians speak the way they do, how greetings work, what politeness actually looks like here

How I teach it

Everything is explained in clear, simple English, so you're never lost. I build from what you can already say and expand outward. There's grammar, but it arrives when you need it, not before.

Why me

I'm a language teacher by training — Cambridge CELTA, a Bachelor's in Literary Studies — and I live inside the language every day. That combination is rarer than it should be. Many people speak Portuguese. Fewer know how to teach it.
