Description
I will focus on action-based activities, playing games, singing and dancing.
Materials: Since children like to see all different kinds of visuals, I will use posters, flashcards, pictures, videos, picture books, or picture dictionaries for children etc.
Your daughter and I will draw and have a conversation or some story-telling. These are very effective as we teach new vocabulary by showing pictures, flashcards or other visuals. Your daughter will learn by listening/watching short videos of kiddie rhymes and songs, looking at pictures, drawing, coloring, and eventually talking.
TPR (Total Physical Response) is one of the most important teaching approaches which can be adapted to a various number of teaching situations, and children really have fun doing it. It helps to practice vocabulary connected with actions, tenses, imperatives and instructions, classroom language and even storytelling. It can be combined with the techniques of singing and dancing; English songs and nursery rhymes.
