Understanding English phrases and expressions
In this lesson we will look at more than just basic grammar and vocabulary. Using texts provided either by me or you, we will discover ways native speakers use the language to express themselves.
Description
This lesson is suitable for intermediate level students and above.
If you have a good basic knowledge of English but would like to take that next step in understanding native speakers and writers, this lesson is for you.
We use real texts and pick out phrases and words and see how they are used for more natural expression. It's not just about getting the grammar right, but about understanding how we use the language in reality, not always following the rules!
I'm happy to provide texts for this, which I can send to you before the lesson. Or alternatively you can bring a text to the lesson, ideally sending it to me prior to the lesson so I can be prepared and we can maximise our class time.
Why not take a trial lesson and get an idea of what you can learn in these lessons. If you have a particular topic of interest then let me know and we can use an article of that type.
