課程介紹

Passage read aloud by me. The passage can be read aloud with the student following on a previously provided text without the questions or it can be used as a listening exercise. This will depend on the students level. This lesson is geared to the intermediate student.

The rain began to fall on the day after Sunday. I was happy.  My garden needed the rain. Then, it rained on Tuesday and on Wednesday.  On Thursday, it was sunny. I went to cut the long grass but it was too wet to cut the grass and the ground was too soft. I pulled out weeds instead.

Question by me: Are there any words that you did not understand?
 
(If there are any words not understood, I will explain them using images, describing verbally or using dramatic action)
 
Questions for the lesson read:
When did the rain begin to fall?
How did I feel?
Why did the garden need the rain?
Why did I pull out weeds and did not cut the long grass?
Why was it a good day to weed?
 
Follow-up exercise:
Questions by me: Which words would you change to write your own story? What would you like to say?

The student then writes or relates her or her passage.
In this lesson the following is covered: pronounciation, vocabulary extension, comprehension and listening skills, grammar (past tense), writing skills, spelling.
