Learn not only keigo, but also Japanese that you can use naturally in real business situations, such as workplace conversations, phone calls, emails, reporting, and consultations. Let’s practice in a practical way tailored to your work and goals!

Description

This lesson is a Business Japanese lesson designed to help you acquire Japanese that you can actually use at work.

In Business Japanese, it is very important not only to speak grammatically correct Japanese, but also to choose appropriate expressions according to your relationship with the other person, your respective positions, and the situation.

In this lesson, we will not focus only on keigo. We will practice natural and appropriate Japanese while considering actual workplace and business situations.

What We Will Cover in the Lesson

Depending on your work and goals, we can cover topics such as:

  • Keigo (respectful language, humble language, and polite language)
  • Conversations with supervisors, colleagues, and subordinates
  • Conversations with customers and business partners
  • Handling phone calls
  • Business emails and messages
  • Reporting, communicating, and consulting
  • Expressions for making requests, asking for favors, and asking for permission
  • Expressions for declining, apologizing, and expressing gratitude
  • Expressions for giving opinions and making suggestions
  • Expressions commonly used in meetings and the workplace
  • How to distinguish between formal and casual Japanese

Not Just “Correct” Japanese, but Japanese That Is “Appropriate for the Situation”

In Business Japanese, even when expressing the same thing, the appropriate way to say it changes depending on the person you are speaking to and the situation.

For example, the words you use and the level of politeness will differ depending on whether you are speaking to a colleague, a supervisor, or a customer.

Therefore, in this lesson, we will focus not only on “whether the Japanese is grammatically correct,” but also on “what would be a natural and appropriate way to say it to this person in this situation.”

For similar expressions, I will also explain, when necessary, not only their meanings, but also their level of politeness, nuances, the impression they give to the other person, and the situations in which they are actually used.

Practice Based on Real-Life Situations

When necessary, we will also do conversation practice and role-plays based on actual business situations.

For example:

  • Reporting the progress of your work to your supervisor
  • Handling a phone call from a customer
  • Making a request to a business partner
  • Apologizing for a mistake
  • Expressing your opinion in a meeting
  • Politely declining something
  • Asking about something you do not understand at work

You can practice using situations that could actually occur at work.

Also, if you currently use Japanese at work, we can incorporate situations you are having difficulty with in your actual job or situations you would like to practice into the lesson.

Tailored to Each Student’s Goals

The Business Japanese you need will differ depending on your job and workplace environment.

Therefore, I will adjust the lesson content according to your Japanese level, job, goals, and areas you find difficult.

If you make mistakes, I will correct them when necessary and also explain more natural ways of saying things and expressions that are appropriate for the situation.

This Lesson Is Recommended for People Who:

  • Work using Japanese
  • Want to work for a Japanese company or in a workplace where Japanese is used
  • Are not confident using keigo
  • Want to communicate naturally with supervisors, colleagues, and customers
  • Want to practice Japanese used on the phone and in emails
  • Want to learn expressions that can actually be used at work, not just those found in textbooks
  • Want to learn appropriate levels of politeness and nuances of language for different situations

Let’s practice Japanese that you can use in real business situations, tailored to your work and goals!
