My Trip to the Beach

Last summer, my family traveled to the beach. We went by car. The weather was sunny and warm. We swam in the sea, built sandcastles, and ate ice cream. I collected seashells and took many pictures. It was a wonderful trip.

Ask comprehension questions:

  1. Where did the family go?

  2. How did they travel?

  3. What did they do?

  4. What was the weather like?

  5. Did they enjoy the trip?

4. Speaking Activity (10 minutes)

Students work in pairs.

They ask each other:

  • Where did you go?

  • Who did you go with?

  • How did you travel?

  • What did you see?

  • What was your favorite activity?

Encourage complete sentences.

5. Writing Activity (15 minutes)

Students write about a real or imaginary trip.

Writing Prompt:
"Write about your favorite travel experience."

Guide them with these questions:

  • Where did you go?

  • Who went with you?

  • How did you travel?

  • What did you do?

  • What was your favorite part?

Example:

Last year I went to the zoo with my family. We traveled by bus. I saw many animals, including lions and elephants. We ate lunch together and took lots of pictures. It was a fun day.
