What is Britain really like beyond the guidebooks?

Many learners know about London, the Royal Family, afternoon tea and famous landmarks. But everyday British life is often found elsewhere: in local pubs, seaside towns, television programmes, music, regional accents, school memories, humour and ordinary traditions.

This 25-minute conversation lesson explores Britain through personal stories, cultural snapshots and discussion.

Possible topics include:

• British summers and seaside holidays
• Pub culture and pub gardens
• Fish and chips, tea and everyday food
• British television and comedy
• Music, pubs and the live music scene
• School life in Britain
• Regional accents and local identities
• British politeness, humour and understatement
• Growing up in Britain in the 1970s, 80s and 90s
• Village life, towns and cities
• Customs, traditions and everyday habits

Each lesson is different and can be guided by personal interests and questions.

This is not a history lesson or a lecture. It is an opportunity to explore British culture through natural conversation with a native speaker who has lived and worked in many different parts of the UK.

Suitable for intermediate to advanced learners who enjoy cultural discussion and want to understand not only British English, but also the people and experiences behind it.

Come with questions, curiosity, or simply an interest in Britain.
