Description

The title of the lesson is Winning mindset with Kobe Bryant. The first two slides feature images of pictures of Kobe Bryant and is meant to get the students talking about the pictures. When they talk about the pictures, I'll check for correct pronunciation and spelling as I'll ask them to write down their ideas.

The third slide features a set of 6 character traits of winners and champions. I'll read through it and ask the students to repeat after me. We'll also go through the explanations of each trait. This section targets vocabulary and pronunciation as students may encounter unfamiliar words and phrases.

Next, I'll ask the students if they have a role model or someone they admire who embodies these traits. I'll also ask them what specifically they admire about this person and if there's anything that stops them from emulating this person. Here, I will also check for pronunciation and spelling.

In the next slide, we'll watch a video of Kobe Bryant where he talks about the habits he adopted that helped him become a multiple basketball championship winner. I'll ask the students to watch and listen for unfamiliar words and phrases. This section will target listening and comprehension.

This will be followed by a discussion of the video and everything they saw, heard and learned. Here again, I'll look at pronunciation and spelling.

Next, I'll direct the the students to a website where they'll do an online winning mindset quiz. Following the quiz, I'll them a few questions about their results and what they need to improve on.

In all my lessons I try to not only teach English but to also empower, motivate and inspire my students. I have a relaxed and flexible teaching style which is based around the needs of my students.
