Description
This lesson introduces students to the essential foundations of rhythm and drum creation in modern music production. Understanding rhythm is one of the most important steps in beat making, and this class focuses on helping students develop a strong sense of timing, groove, and drum arrangement.
Students will learn how time signatures and tempo (BPM) shape the feel of a track, and how to apply these concepts when creating drum patterns inside a Digital Audio Workstation primarily FL Studio.
We will explore how to build basic Trap, Pop, and Afrobeats drum grooves, breaking down each genre’s rhythmic identity. Students will also learn how to structure kicks, claps, snares, and hi-hats to form clean and catchy drum loops.
