My name is Steve, I am based in London, UK and it is nice to meet you!
I worked for an agency of the Japanese Foreign Ministry in London for 3 years, I learned a lot about how business people and diplomats talk about complicated international events.
President Trump is already having a major impact on international business.
In a business situation, it is important to be able to talk in a professional and diplomatic way about challenging issues.
In this lesson we will practice discussing the impact of President Trump on business and the economy. I have chosen this topic to help you find the right form of words and language so you can speak with knowledge and objectivity.
This will be useful if you are involved in business planning, trade, sustainability, risk, public relation, and many other areas.
I will help you to develop some models answers to use if someone asks you a difficult question.
1) INTRODUCTION (5 mins): Short discussion about:
a) CONTEXT you would like to practice. For example, an informal discussion with Engish speaking colleagues, a formal presentation, making small talk at a conference.
b) TOPICS you would like to discuss

b) U.S.-China Relations and Japan’s Role
c) Changes in International Business Practices
d) Geopolitical Stability and Business Risks
e) Communication and Negotiation with American Partners
3) FEEDBACK (5 mins): We review the conversations, and I provide feedback and some suggestions for additional practice and preparation.
