Ear training for musicians (beginner to advanced)
Description
Music is a language and to have a good conversation, you need to know how to listen, repeat, and improvise. It's just like learning to speak. So learning to play music by ear can be done on any instrument (including voice) and is all about being able to absorb what you're hearing and instantly recognize it through repetition and practice. We can approach any kind of music and will use some music theory to help us translate what we hear into understanding it and playing it back on our instruments.
Ear training is essential to musicians of all levels on any insutrment, and I recommend to start it from the very beginning of lessons, but it's never too late to get started! I taught myself guitar by ear at age 11 and also learned a few other instruments more classically. I will combine my classical theory knowledge with practical "conversational music" and we''ll have some fun learning to play by ear!
