An English conversation about creativity and expression. Is it art? You decide.
Description
My lesson on 'what is art?', allows students to explore how art is defined and experienced through discussion, critical thinking, and visual examples. It is designed for beginner to intermediate English learners (A2–B2) and develops skills in speaking, listening, vocabulary building, and expressing opinions. Students engage with questions about their own experiences of art, discuss artists and styles, and debate whether unconventional works should be considered art. Using images and short video clips as prompts, the class emphasizes communicative and task-based learning, encouraging students to share perspectives, agree or disagree politely, and create their own definitions of art. My teaching style is student-centered, interactive, and global in perspective, with a focus on building confidence and making language learning meaningful and engaging.
