Your first “bonjour” is a lovely place to start

Want to learn French but unsure where to begin? This lesson gives you a gentle, structured introduction, with time to listen, ask questions and practise aloud.

You don’t need any previous knowledge of French.

Who is this lesson for?

• Adults starting French from zero.
• Beginners who know a few words but need help putting them together.
• Learners returning to French who would like to revisit the basics.

What can we learn?

Depending on your starting point, we’ll choose a small, manageable goal, such as:

• Greeting someone and introducing yourself.
• Asking and answering simple questions.
• Talking about what you like.
• Using useful expressions for everyday situations.

We won’t rush through everything in one session. We’ll focus on helping you understand and use what we practise.

How will we practise?

I’ll introduce useful words and expressions, explain their meaning and help you with pronunciation. Then we’ll use them in short exchanges, with pictures, examples or a simple role-play.

Grammar will come in small steps, connected to the sentences you’re learning.

English explanations are available whenever you need them.

Your first lesson

We might practise greeting someone, saying your name and asking theirs. By the end, you’ll have tried a short introduction in French, with my support.

If you already know those basics, we’ll choose the next step together.

What should you bring?

Just something to take notes with and a willingness to try. No textbook is required.

During the trial, we’ll discuss your goals and practise a few first expressions.
