Objective:
- Improve fluency and confidence in business conversations.
- Practice expressing opinions, negotiating, and small talk.
- Learn key phrases for professional interactions.
Lesson Structure:
1. Warm-up (5 minutes) – Professional Icebreaker
Activity: “Two Truths and a Business Lie”
- Each student shares three statements about their work (two true, one false).
- Others guess the false one.
- Encourages natural conversation and workplace-related vocabulary.
💡 Tech Tip: Use the chat box for guesses before revealing answers.
2. Main Activity (15 minutes) – Business Discussion & Roleplay
Option 1: Business Scenarios Discussion (Fluency & Critical Thinking)
- Present a workplace scenario (e.g., “Your team is behind schedule. How do you handle it?”).
- Each student shares their approach.
- Encourage discussion with follow-up questions.
Option 2: Negotiation Roleplay (Persuasion & Confidence)
- Assign roles (e.g., buyer & seller, manager & employee).
- Give a scenario (e.g., negotiating a contract, requesting a raise).
- Students roleplay and practice professional language.
Option 3: Small Talk in Business (Natural Conversation Skills)
- Discuss common networking questions (“What do you do?” “How’s business going?”).
- Students practice answering and continuing conversations.
3. Wrap-up (5 minutes) – Feedback & Key Takeaways
- Ask: “What’s one phrase or skill you will use from today’s session?”
- Provide feedback on fluency, clarity, and professionalism.
- Encourage students to practice in real-life business settings.
