Description
Objectives:
By the end of the lesson learners should be able to:
1. Use English language to define and describe what culture is.
2. Understand different aspects of Zimbabwean culture.
Introduction
The lesson begins with the Tutor using basic greeting etiquette. Simple phrases used in English language greeting. The learners then respond to those greetings using the standard responses. [ 5 minutes]
Activities
1.The Tutor then proceeds to ask the learners what the term "culture" means to them. Learners respond freely without being controlled.
2. The Tutor then asks the learners to describe their culture under the following topics.
Food, Language, Greetings, Traditions and Ceremonies, Beliefs , Music and Family.
This is meant to train learners in speaking. [ 7 minutes ]
Break [5 minutes ]
3. The Tutor then explains what the term culture means in Zimbabwe.
4. The Tutor then explains Zimbabwean culture using the above mentioned topics.
This is meant to train learners in listening 7 minutes]
Conclusion
The lesson is concluded using standard phrases used to close conversations. The Tutor also thanks the learner for participating [6 minutes]
