What is happening around the world?

This is an advanced level english class. If you are interested in learning english to boost your confidence and expand conversational topics, I encourage you to join me in this class! 

In this lesson we will be discussing lots of different topics from around the world.

Each lesson will focus on reading, listening and speaking practice. *There is also writing homework for more serious students. 

How does this lesson work?
  • Choose a News headline ( I will then send you a PDF) 
  • Read the News article together (I will correct pronunction)
  • True or False questions (Listening practice) 
  • Synonym practice from the news article (Learn new vocabulary) 
  • Discussion (Speaking and listening practice) 
Examples of News headlines: 

* 1991 was the best year for music - "easier"
* Three baby ducks hatch from supermarket eggs - "easier"
* Black lives matter protest takes place worldwide - "easier"
* No screaming in Japanese amusement parks - "easier"
* Free rice ATMs installed on vietnam's streets - "harder" 
* New york allows online lockdown weddings - "harder"
* Numbers of black rhino on the rise - "harder"
