How to decode English spoken by Indians
Description
Indian pronunciation and accent can sometimes be tricky to understand. As an Indian myself, I can definitely relate! This is largely due to the influence of our mother tongues. India is a linguistically diverse country, with over 200 languages spoken across the nation, so English accents, pronunciation, and even certain expressions can vary significantly from one region to another.
This lesson is designed to help you understand why Indian English sounds the way it does. I’ll also introduce you to some common Indian English terms and demonstrate the pronunciation of certain words, to give you a better idea of how language and linguistics work in different parts of India.
