Description

We will explore the fascinating depths of Russia's traditions, history, and modern life - from the warmth of the bania to the mysteries of the "Russian soul" and the cozy chaos of the dacha.

We will look at many different topics that relate to different time periods: 

  • Traditions and folklore 
  • Soviet times
  • Modern culture 

If you are also learning Russian and want to practice switching between languages, we can incorporate more Russian. We can discuss complex cultural ideas in English and then explore how to express them in Russian.

 

The level of Russian we use is entirely up to you. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and maximize your learning, whether that's 100% English or a supportive mix of both languages.
