■ Course Description
Would you like to travel through Taiwan while learning Chinese, one story at a time?
A Journey Through Taiwan in Words is a themed Chinese lesson that combines Chinese reading, speaking practice, and Taiwanese culture.
Each article becomes a small doorway to Taiwan—a chance to discover its landscapes, traditions, food, and everyday life through the Chinese language.
In Dadaocheng, we will explore the stories hidden in its historic streets.
In Houtong Cat Village, we will take a glimpse into the quiet everyday life of a small mountain town.
We will discover the traditional wisdom behind the Flying Fish Festival in Orchid Island, and experience the energy and excitement of the Yanshui Beehive Fireworks Festival.
Along the way, we will also encounter some of Taiwan's favorite foods, from bubble tea and pineapple cakes to oyster omelets, discovering not only what they taste like, but also the stories and culture behind them.
Each article is a small journey.
Each topic is a new place to discover.
As we read, you will naturally encounter new vocabulary and expressions. Through reading aloud and repetition practice, you will gradually become more familiar with Chinese pronunciation, tones, rhythm, and natural language patterns.
Then, we will go one step further.
By discussing the article, sharing your own experiences, and expressing your thoughts in Chinese, you will gradually move from reading Chinese to speaking Chinese.
This is not simply a lesson about reading Chinese texts.
It is a journey where you discover Taiwan through Chinese, and discover more Chinese through Taiwan.
Let’s turn the pages and begin our journey through Taiwan in words.
■ Course Features
・A Journey That Begins with Reading
Each lesson focuses on a different aspect of Taiwan.
We may explore famous places, traditional festivals, local food, city streets, or everyday life. Through each reading, we will travel to a different corner of Taiwan.
・Build Vocabulary Naturally Along the Way
Rather than memorizing isolated words, you will encounter new vocabulary in meaningful contexts.
By understanding how words and expressions are used within a story or situation, you can gradually build vocabulary that you can actually use.
・Read Aloud and Make the Language Your Own
Reading is not just about understanding the meaning.
Through reading aloud and repetition practice, you will become more familiar with Chinese tones, rhythm, and pronunciation.
If you have difficulty with pronunciation or expressions, I will help you check and correct them during the lesson.
・Discover Taiwan Beyond the Tourist Spots
We will explore not only famous tourist attractions, but also Taiwanese food, festivals, streets, traditions, and everyday life.
While learning Chinese, you may also discover something new about Taiwan.
・Continue the Journey in Your Own Words
Once you understand the article, it is time to tell your own story.
