By understanding the communication skills needed in the workplace, you can gain the confidence to build strong relationships with your colleagues and clients.
Here is a breakdown of each lesson:
1. Presentation: Content, vocabulary and grammar.
2. Practice: Students practice using the language point in a controlled context and receive feedback.
3. Produce: Students produce language themselves.
Teaching Plan:
1. Self-Introductions. Topic: Introduction Framework. Grammar: Present, Past and Future Statements.
2. Alternatives to Please. Topic: Communicating with Colleagues and Polite vs Impolite Expressions. Grammar: Indirect Speech.
3. Expressing Opinions. Topic: Absolute and Objective Statements. Grammar: Using Signposting Language to Frame Opinions in Meetings.
4. Time Management. Topic: Using Time Wisely. Grammar: Scheduling and Learning to Prioritise Tasks.
5. Decision Making. Topic: Making Effective Decisions. Grammar: Phrasal Verbs and Problem Solving Skills.
6. Goal Setting. Topic: James Clear’s Goal Setting Strategy. Grammar: Using Will, Need to and Might.
7. Writing Emails. Topic: Email Etiquette, Starting and Finishing Emails. Grammar: Punctuation and Layout.
