It's been over 4 years since I started offering lessons on Cafetalk! 

In that time, I haven't increased lesson prices significantly, but since 2022, the Japanese Yen depreciated dramatically. Thus, I have had to increase the prices of most lessons to keep up with the original USD conversation rate. 

Accounting for overall inflation, I believe the price increase is fair and justified. Without it, I would be receiving less in US Dollars than in 2020.  

For example: 
900 yen (2020) = $8.26 
900 yen (2024) = $5.99
1300 yen (2024) = $8.65 

1,200 yen (2020) = $11.01 
1,200 yen (2024) = $7.99 
1,700 yen (2024) = $11.32
