Q. Hi Maryse! Would you like to give us a short self-introduction?

A. Yes of course!
I’m a French Citizen. I lived in France in a little village Landiras near Bordeaux in the South-West until 22 years old. Then I moved to Morocco with my boyfriend who became my husband some years later. At this time I was a nurse but I did’nt work there and I decided to integrate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where my husband was working. Thanks to that I moved often and lived in different countries : Gabon, Senegal, Thailand and now Domican Republic. I love this way of life because it permits to meet a lot of people.

When I was in Thailand I met a lot of people wishing learn French and I decided to change my job again. I took lessons and passed a diploma and I’m now teaching French as a foreign langage in different institues and since the beginning of this year on Skype. I love teacching on Skype because it permits to really adapt lessons at each student and it permit me to meet people from all over the word. I continue to move regularly with my family thanks to my husband’s job.

Q. Could you tell us about your home country, France?

A. France is a very beautiful country with sea, mountains and beautiful monuments in all cities and villages (and not only in Paris!). France is an old country with a very rich history, and I think it is now a country easy to live in. I love my country a lot even if I love travel.

Q. According to your profile, you’ve been living in Dominican Republic! How is the life there?

A. The life here is easy especially because of the climate and the very kind people. The dominican Repubublic is the first country of the new world and we can meet the history everywhere : it is very interesting. And it is also the country of the bachata and the merengue, you can listen anytime anywhere.

Q. How do you spend your day offs? Is there anything you are into right now?

A. I have 3 children, so, I spend time with them at home or as often as I can somewhere else in the country to visit.

Q. I’m intrested in your lesson. What are some of the main focus points of your lessons?

A. I think the most important to know on my lesson is that they are all personalized, according to the aims and the wihes of my students. The most complete are those of general French (beginers and others). They follow the instructions of the CECR and take a modern method as a support.

Q. Do you have any words of wisdom for our students?

A. Everybody can learn foreign language, if you need or want for the pleasure. It helps to communicate but also to understand the way of thinking in other cultures. And with a good teacher and a good method, it can be easy and amazing!!
