About Me
Hello, my name is CJ and i’m a pretty normal guy. I consider myself laid back and relaxed. I currently live in Japan with my wife and visit my hometown once a year.
 
World news, music, study of the outer space and playing videogames are among my hobbies.
 
I've had many opportunities to visit several places in the world including Japan, Hong Kong, Barbados and Costa Rica. It isn't always so easy, but I believe visiting different countries has made me view the world quite differently in a positive way.


Me as a Teacher
I think of myself more as an "English coach". There is so much more involved in learning English than rules and book knowledge. 
 
It is important to know English rules, however (everyday natural English) is often very different. A number of factors help us to sound natural. Needless to say, it depends on your goals.
 
In the past, I’ve had an opportunity to assist native adult speakers with their English skills. This experience has played a role in how I help students today.
 
I’ve been an online English teacher for nearly 5 years and have taught upwards of 5000 lessons. I have seen almost any situation a non native might be in, so can likely help you too!


Lessons and Teaching Style
My lesson methodology is quite simple... I do what works for you as an individual. 
 
Everyone is different. Methods often work differently from person to person. Spending a sufficient amount of time on any task is important to make sure its understood well.
 
Slow and steady wins the race. Therefore, it's my goal to provide a comfortable, modernized, relaxing environment for you to improve your English.  
 
My sessions tend to be quite interactive with articles, video clips and other useful media. Some people prefer a more (strict) style of teacher. If that is what you like, I may not be the person you are looking for.  My style is intentionally relaxed. However, please check for yourself!
