SELF INTRODUCTION AND TEACHING BACKGROUND
 
Hello everyone! My name is Cyntia. I am a native speaker of English and near native French speaker from Cameroon (One of the two French and English speaking countries in the world). I am a holder of a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, and I am also a certified TEFL teacher from the TEFL institute of Ireland. I enjoy reading litterature and learning about other cultures.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have four years experience teaching English Language and Literature in English to both Francophone and Anglophone students  (ages 10 to 16) in Government and private secondary schools, successfully preparing them for their final GCE examinations and French to Anglophone students.
I have provided one on one home lessons to almost a hundred adults who want to learn English or French for work, buisiness or travel trips or those who just wanted to improve their conversational skills. I am confident that I can help you achieve your goals.

TEACHING STYLE

As a tutor on Cafetalk, I believe that learning should be fun and engaging. My teaching philosophy is centered around creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where learners feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I believe that everyone has the potential to new language regardless of their age or background.

In my lessons, I use a variety of resources and materials to keep things interesting. Whether you are looking to improve your grammar, vocabulary, or conversation skills, I am here to help you. Together, we can work towards achieving your language goals and unlocking new opportunities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  1. Can you take any lesson I offer right away?:  Ofcourse yes you can take any lessons I offer any time. Just reach out and request for any lesson. However, should you want an introduction lesson first, kindly let me know and we will fix something together.
  2. Can anyone take my lessons? While I would love to offer lessons for everyone in the future, I am currently accepting only children above 10 and adults of any age. I accept learners at any level (Beginner, Intermediate or Advance).
  3. Will my lessons be very customizable or do I have a set plan? I have lessons that are very customizable and lessons that have a set plan. We can discuss together for a customized lesson that meets your needs should you not find such a lesson in my list of lessons. I offer you this flexibility.
  4. Will my lessons change how you have studied so far? I do not know how you have studied so far but what I can assure you is that we are going to have lots and lots of practice to build your confidence and have fun doing so.

After request is confirmed (fixed)

  • More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
  • Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
