Hello! My name is Oreva A , and I'm a TEFL-certified English teacher from Nigeria.
I've always enjoyed teaching, but what I particularly love about teaching English is seeing someone go from “I don't know how to say

this” to expressing their thoughts more clearly and naturally. I believe learning a language should be more than memorising rules. It should help you communicate, connect with people and feel more comfortable using English in everyday life. And as one currently learning a new language; "Yoruba" which is spoken by many Westerners in Nigeria, I well know the struggles that learning a new language can pose.
I'm naturally patient and easy to talk to, so I like creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. After all, mistakes are part of learning!
Outside of teaching, I enjoy cooking and baking (I am obsessed with foods loll), music and singing, sightseeing and enjoying the marvels of nature, being home alone, reading or watching movies, photography and pleasant surprises.
MY TEACHING BACKGROUND
I have a BSc in Education and I'm also TEFL certified.
I've had experience teaching English in a school setting, working with Junior learners in the middle grade. I planned lessons, taught English, helped students understand difficult topics and prepared them for examination-style questions.
These experiences have taught me that students don't all learn in the same way. Some people need a clear explanation before they can practise, while others learn better by talking and trying things out.
That's one of the reasons I enjoy personalized teaching. It gives me the opportunity to make lessons more personal and focus on what each student actually needs.
MY TEACHING STYLE
My teaching style is relaxed, patient and practical.
I believe in meeting students at their point of need and not just following a set of strict rules that may be impractical to the student's actual needs.
Also, I don't want you to spend an entire lesson listening to me talk. I want you to participate, ask questions, practise and actually use the English you're learning.
Depending on your goals, our lessons can include:
Conversation practice
Vocabulary building
Grammar
Reading and comprehension
Role-playing everyday situations
I teach intermediate to advanced learners, and I can adjust lessons according to your level, interests and goals.
Kids are very welcome!
If you already know what you want to work on, tell me! If you're not quite sure, that's fine too. We can figure it out together.
My lessons can be structured around a particular topic or skill, but I'm also happy to make them more flexible when you'd like to simply practise through conversation.
If you're looking for a friendly and supportive teacher who will encourage you to participate and learn at your own pace, I'd be happy to meet you.
It is preffered that you keep your video on during classes, however, you may choose to leave your video off during my classes if you are reaaaallllyyy camera shy.
You may want to keep in mind, though, that some type of lessons would require that you keep the camera on to achieve the best results.
Oh.
I'm also available to teach on Zoom and Google meet, you could meet me there.
See you in class! (Smileeee emoji)
