Learn Indonesian with an Experienced, Passionate Teacher

Hello, my name is Vicki, and I have been teaching the Indonesian language for nearly 25 years. Teaching Indonesian is not just my profession—it is my life and my passion.

My journey began while I was still a university student in Yogyakarta, where I received proper professional training and started teaching at a reputable language school. After graduating, I moved to Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital city, and continued teaching full-time with an intensive schedule—7 days a week, up to 8 hours a day. This experience shaped me into a disciplined, adaptable, and deeply committed language educator.

A Teacher for Learners from All Walks of Life

Over the years, I have taught students from many nationalities and diverse professional backgrounds, including:

  • Diplomats

  • Post-graduate students

  • CEOs and bankers

  • Activists and journalists

  • Housewives and volunteers

Each student came with different goals, learning styles, motivations, and cultural perspectives. This diversity trained me to become highly flexible and responsive as a teacher—adapting my methods and personal teaching style while staying focused on clear learning outcomes.
In every class, my students learn from me—and I learn from them.

A Personal Approach to Indonesian Language Learning

I strongly believe that no two students learn the same way. That is why I use a personal approach method in my teaching.

For every student, I carefully consider:

  • Motivation and goals

  • Background and experience

  • Preferences and interests

These elements become the foundation of each lesson. I integrate them into a structured curriculum that serves as a guide, while keeping the lessons flexible, relevant, and engaging. My goal is to ensure that every student feels confident, supported, and genuinely enjoys the learning process.

My long experience in Indonesian language education—both in teaching practice and within the language-learning industry—has shown me that learning can be done better, more humanely, and more effectively. I am committed to providing a learning experience that is not only productive, but also satisfying, enjoyable, and meaningful.
