Hello, my name is Atsuko. I have been living in Canada since 2004.

Although I'm new to teach Japanese online, I have over 10 years of experience teaching Japanese at a local community centre in Metro Vancouver.  I am a certified teacher of teaching Beginner Japanese <Grammer and Teaching Techniques>

I truly love teaching Japanese, and what I love most is getting to know my students, listening to them , and helping them feel more confident when  they speaking Japanese. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people through my lesson.  Some of my former students still send me Christmas card, which makes me very happy and reminds me of the special connection we've made. 

I would be delight to create a warm and comfortable learning environment. I hope to provide lesson that you think "I like to talk with this teacher."    I look forward to having the opportunity to talk with you!   See you soon!

Lessons

1) Free Conversation   ( 25 minutes)

For  an intermediate ~ advanced learners

Let's enjoy speaking Japanese in a fun and relaxed way!  Also, learn a Japanese honorific way of speaking (to boss at your job) or a casual way of speaking (to your family members or close friends) with "plain verb + んdesu"  form , if you want.


2) Five-Minute Discussion    (25 minutes)

For a beginner ~  an intermediate learners

Choose a topic you enjoy—such as hobbies, lifestyle, work, music, technology, etc.  After the 5minute discussion ( only Japanese), we will review pronunciation, vocabulary, phrases, and grammar (by Japanese and English) to help you fully retain what you have learned.


3) Teacher Guided Conversation    (25 minutes)

For a beginner learners

A friendry conversation with an English -speaking  teacher.  The teacher leads the conversation by asking the student questions.   Try to talk Japanese !



4) Japanese Basics   (25 minutes × 5 lessons)  
       < using textbook GENKI >

  • Lesson 1: Learn the characteristics of the Japanese language, along with simple greetings.
  • Lesson 2: Learn numbers and basic sentences using the “__ wa __ desu” pattern, as well as how to give your phone number in Japanese.
  • Lesson 3: Practice introducing yourself, including your hobbies and special skills.
  • Lesson 4: Practice shopping and ordering using the “__ o __ kudasai” pattern. Using pictures of a gift shop , students practice placing orders.
  • Lesson 5:  Practice how to order the menu using the . "__no __o ikutu kudasai" pattern. Using picture of restaurant. You will develop practical Japanese skill.
  •                Now, you are ready to visit Japan anytime !

  • More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
  • Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
