Hello! My name is Michelle S and I am a TEFL certified English teacher and online tutor with 7 years of teaching experience. Though I am originally from Los Angeles, USA, I now live in the south of France, where I get to enjoy the mild weather year round and a more relaxed pace of life.
I love to laugh and have a very expressive face, which helps lighten the mood during class. My teaching style is humorous and compassionate, yet meticulous and precise. Just because I like to joke around doesn't mean I'm not serious about helping you improve and refine your English skills.
I love analyzing and discussing food from around the world, but unfortunately I am a terrible cook. While I do not speak Japanese, I do love authentic Japanese dishes that have pork belly. My favorite Japanese dish is Tonkatsu ramen, which I always order with an extra slice of pork belly and egg.
I have many interests and passions, which include world history and current events, real mysterious events, makeup and fashion, nutrition, travel, sports, rare medical conditions, animals, plants, and more. I like to connect my English lessons to offbeat or random topics on occasion, which often leads to memorable conversations that enhance student learning and speaking.
The picture below shows a picture of me and my Christmas tree. Christmas is my favorite time of the year, because it's a great excuse to eat too much and spend time with family and friends.
