Nate.B Perfil del(de la) tutor/a
I’m Nate, a University of Cambridge graduate and experienced teacher, currently living in China. Education, English language and literature are the cornerstones of my life and I’m excited to share my passion with you through tailored lessons that fit your needs. When I’m not in the classroom, you might find me exploring Beijing by bike, going to my weekly Chinese lessons, reading or listening to Taylor Swift.
I’m a Cambridge CELTA qualified English teacher and achieved the gold-standard Pass-A mark awarded to only around 4% of candidates globally. I’ve since used this qualification in my work for Target English International, creating bespoke, high-impact lessons to prepare students for the Trinity GESE exam in spoken English.
My teaching style builds rapport and trust with learners by centring their needs, interests and goals. My lessons are highly structured and pacy, building progression through short, targeted activities, but above all harnessing the joy of learning at every stage. Of course, I’m also able to offer freer-flowing conversational lessons as needed.
Before becoming an English language teacher, I taught in a London school, where English writing, grammar and reading were my specialities. I gained a PGCE teaching qualification and the principal praised me as, ‘A highly skilful teacher making a difference to the lives of children’.
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a double-first-class degree in Education Studies, following which I worked for three years as a writer at a marketing agency.
Learning a language is one of the most meaningful and exciting challenges you can set yourself in life and I’m proud to be able to play a part in that. Together, we can boost your progress, reach your goals faster, and enjoy this fascinating language along the way. I love teaching and inspiring learners, so whatever stage of your English journey you’re at, get in touch – I can’t wait to meet you!
Please note that sadly, due to my visa status in China, I am unable to work with China-based learners at this time. I'm very sorry and hope to rectify this soon!
At the moment, I am only working with adult learners.
