If you're looking to pick up the American accent, you've found a great teacher! I've been teaching pronunciation online for 7 years. With each year, I've learned more and more about the many nuances of the American accent, and how best to teach it to students from all parts of the world. I have a lot of confidence in myself and in my approach.
My teaching method involves repetition of your priority corrective sounds, and shadowing (the mimicking of native speakers).
Repetition of Your Priority Corrective Sounds:
Generally, we place these sounds into full sentences, rather than isolated words, in order to mimic real life. To be of use to you in everyday conversations, the correct pronunciation of a sound has to reach your muscle memory. Repetition is absolutely crucial for muscle memory retention. You'll receive constant feedback from me, as we practice these sounds.
Shadowing:
Shadowing is the mimicking of native speakers, and how they say things. We use short video clips from YouTube, so that we can playback and repeat the clips as many times as necessary, to get you sounding like they do. I give you feedback as we go, and help you understand what the speaker is saying, and why he/she is saying it different from how it's written in the subtitles. People learn a lot about how Americans speak through shadowing, and they're usually surprised at how much can be learned from it, when they first try it out.
