Hi there, this is Yang lǎoshī from Formosa Taiwan. I am an experienced Mandarin teacher at teaching adult learners and I taught Mandarin Chinese in Thailand, Vietnam, U.S., Canada and Taiwan respectively more than 10 years. Most of my students are from Vietnam and English speaking countries.
My teaching method focus on communicative skills such as speaking and listening for beginners. You will have plenty opportunities in speaking Mandarin Chinese during class and build up confidence in speaking Mandarin outside of class.
I am professional at Thematic teaching, oral proficiency drills, pronunciation and tones in 40 minutes during 7 lessons and cutting off bad habits you gained unconsciously before. For instance, a lot of students would do translating in their brain before they answer questions to foreigners. The process is like following,
First, when you hear Mandarin, you would translate Mandarin to your native language.
Second, you would think how to answer this question in your native language.
Finally, you would translate the answer from your native language back to Mandarin then speak out.
However, the conversation topic has ENDED and your friends start a new chatting topic while you were doing translation in your brain.

If the answer is yes, I am the Mandarin Chinese teacher you are looking for. My lesson is designed for adults and covers from A1 to C1 learners based on CEFR.
There is only one disadvantage if you are Japanese and want to take my class. I speak a few words of Japanese and you will have very limited time to listen to Japanese. Additionally, the textbook I used "A course in contemporary Chinese" is in Mandarin and English. The English ability of students with A2-advanced level to B1 level or above will have no problem using this textbook at all.
I like to go hiking, camping, kayaking, paddle boarding, reading and joining scouts activities during my leisure time. I am a scouts leader for more than 15 years. My outdoor activities and scouts experience had enriched my teaching style. I've been worked in Vietnam, Australia, Canada and U.S. in a total of 5 years. I also had a colloquium "Building Leadership through World Language Learning" while worked and studied in the U.S.. I met an international student from Japan and gave her a strong support going through cultural shocks in the U.S..
Give it a try on taking my class whether you're purpose is learning Mandarin Chinese, know more about studying abroad, cultural shocks or cultral facts imbedded in language. I am here to guide you through all that mentioned above.
**Be ready to drink lots of water during the class since you will have plenty oral drills and practice. You are fine to have water without giving any notify ahead.
