Hi everyone! My name is Audrey! Nice to meet you all.

EDUCATION BACKGROUND:
I studied in a high school in Hong Kong that taught purely in English, then moved to the United Kingdom to continue my last two years of high school there. I completed the English public examinations (Cambridge Pre-U) with distinction, then returned to Hong Kong to further my undergraduate degree in the Bachelor of Laws. Throughout my entire education, the medium of teaching has been in English, and thus, this has become my second Native language other than Cantonese.

TEACHING BACKGROUND:
I have done 1-on-1 private tutoring sessions for three to four years, mainly for English speaking, basic Mandarin, as well as primary school Mathematics. I also designed my own teaching materials for these lessons, catered specifically for the individual students that I teach. Other than that, I have also taught English writing at various tutor centers, mainly targeting a small group of children ranging from six to ten years old. Lesson materials included short stories (paragraphs) and sentence structure.

TEACHING STYLE:
  1. English speaking: free conversations, chatting with students about their daily life activities or hobbies.
  2. English writing: short paragraphs or essay writing, grammar and spelling, sentence structure. For beginners, I will design easy teaching materials such as worksheets or vocabulary lists. For intermediate to business level students, I normally proofread their work and require them to write very short summaries of their jobs to train their English usage.
  3. Mandarin: I use flashcards to teach students the four tones, and as they progress, they may also work on short paragraph pinyin and pronunciation.
  4. Mathematics: I mainly explain the concept to the primary school students, then give them worksheets or around 10-20 questions after each lesson for them to review that topic.

TOEFL IBT: 115/120
