Simon Hart Tutor Profile

Hello, I'm Simon Hart

I am a highly experienced teacher from the UK.  I taught History and Archaeology for many years, both to school age children and students at university level. I have been a teacher of English as a Second Language for more than 30 years in total in the UK and Germany.

I am able to teach conversational or business English to beginners or advanced students, both children and adults. I like to make my lessons fun and engaging and will be able to tailor the lesson to focus on your specific requirements. 

I can just as easily spend time in conversation, focus on a specific grammar problem, help you prepare for an important business meeting or sales pitch, or help your school age children with an upcoming exam.

 

My teaching philosophy

I like to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. My ideal lesson would be challenging, but build confidence and enable the student to have success in every lesson. Each lesson should be pitched to stretch the student, but be specific to their needs,  never be dull, have lots of different activities and a mix of tasks, targeting speaking, listening,writing and reading.

 

My hobbies and interests.

I enjoy studying history, building and making things with my hands. Fixing things, gardening, travelling and writing. I am also trying to learn the piano.

  • More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
  • Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
