Motto

No pressure. No judgment. Just real progress — at your pace.

About Me

Hi, I'm Dee — a native English speaker from Jamaica. I studied at a graduate school in London, UK, before moving to Japan, where I've now lived for 10 years. By profession, I'm both a City Designer and an English Teacher — I currently teach at a Japanese school and run my own English program for students of all ages.

Teaching Style

I built my teaching style around one belief: you learn best when you're not afraid to make mistakes. As a City Designer, I'm trained to design experiences — and I bring that same thinking into my lessons, favoring role-play and real-life scenarios over rote textbook drills.

Who This Is For

  • Feel shy or self-conscious speaking English out loud
  • Have tried before and feel like you've "given up" on ever sounding natural
  • Want a teacher who reads the room and adjusts to you, not the other way around
  • Learn best through role-play and real-life scenarios — interviews, travel, presentations, everyday conversations
  • Have a specific goal coming up: a job interview, an overseas trip, a presentation abroad
  • Just want a friendly foreign conversation partner to open up your world through a new hobby

Background

  • Native English speaker from Jamaica
  • Graduate studies in London, UK
  • 10 years living in Japan, with 10 years of experience teaching Japanese students
  • English teacher at a Japanese school
  • Runs her own English program
  • Professional background as a City Designer

Let's Get Started

After 10 years in Japan, I understand Japanese culture and communication style — and when something's genuinely hard to grasp, I can explain it in Japanese too, so you're never left behind. Let's start exactly where you are. I'd love to meet you in a trial lesson!
